L.O.V.E

It's been two years since Phil and I danced to the song L.O.V.E on our wedding night and what a two years it's been.

Moving out of home for the first time
Moving away to the country
 Buying a house
Finishing uni
Starting full time work
Getting a dog

It might not seem like a mammoth list but these are some of the most significant changes I've ever experienced. Moving out of home (even though we moved into a tiny unit just near my parents home) was a massive change; being responsible for yourself and living financially independent from my parents. Then moving to the country, wow, what a change. Packing up all our belongings in a truck and settling in a place away from every single family member and friend we'd ever known. Having your own home is a big enough challenge but when you're isolated with no support network around it's an even bigger challenge. Thank God for visitors, weekends away, nice neighbours and a super wonderful husband.
Then of course there was the fact that while I lived in the country I still had to finish off uni so many a four and a half hour bus trip to and from the city for 6 months.
Once that was over it was time to work as a permanent relief teacher in some tough schools for 6 months and that helped me grow heaps as a teacher. When I got to have my own Reception/year 1 class I had already seen so many other classes that I was brimming with ideas of how to set mine up.
Finally and probably one of my absolute favourite changes, getting Maisy at the start of the year. She's just such a great companion and I know I get paid out for being a tad dog obsessed but dogs are pretty fantastic creatures.

So today on our two year anniversary I am very thankful to have had my husband right beside me through all the massive changes and challenges to come my way. Here's to many more wonderful years of marriage!

p.s Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister-in-law Katie. Thank you for letting us use your birthday for our wedding day. Miss you and can't wait to see you soon xxx
I hope it isn't too long before I get to visit Katie in Tanzania again and we can spend our days on rickety wooden boats floating off the Zanibar coast. Bliss.
